SERVE DAY NEED TO KNOW

On Serve Day, we will all gather at Coastal to kick off the day and then spread out to projects across our community.

Off-Site Projects:

  • The Lord’s Food Pantry

  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore

  • Landscaping at the Burn’s House

  • Hospice Center

  • The Rose House

  • Bryant’s Orchard (CRCI)

On-Site Projects:

  • Food prep and delivery

  • Assembling gift bags for the homeless

  • Pressure washing

  • Cleaning and organizing

  • Landscaping

  • Painting

There’s a place for everyone to jump in—no matter your age, or skill. Let’s make this Serve Month a time where our community can clearly see the love of Christ through His church.
We will also have a special space just for the kiddos! Childcare will be provided for ages 4-8 , so you can serve knowing your little ones are cared for and having fun.

We can’t wait to see how God uses your hands and heart to serve!

SERVE MONTH

This October, we’re dedicating the entire month to Serve Month—a time for us to intentionally bless and serve the people in our community. We have so many opportunities to show God’s love in practical ways.

Whether you serve individually, as a family, or with your growth group, here are some simple and impactful ideas to get you started:

  • Pick up trash along the beach, park, or neighborhood.

  • Pay for someone’s meal or coffee in the drive-thru.

  • Write encouraging notes or Scripture cards and leave them in public places.

  • Bake cookies and deliver them to neighbors or coworkers.

  • Volunteer a few hours at a local nonprofit.

  • Take a meal to a family with a new baby, someone sick, or a neighbor going through a hard time.

  • Host a beach or park cleanup day as a family outing.

  • Rake leaves, mow the yard, or help with chores for an elderly neighbor.

Another Way to Serve: Gift Bag Collection for the Homeless

For the next couple of weeks, we will be collecting items to fill gift bags that will be given to those in need in our community. Drop off at the church anytime from now until Serve Day. If you’d like to participate, please bring any of the following items:

  • Peanut Butter/Cheese Sandwich Crackers

  • Bag of Chips

  • Bag of Cookies

  • Fruit Bar/Granola Bar

  • Fruit Snacks/Piece of Candy

  • Bottle of Water

  • Wet Wipes

  • Tissues

  • Comb

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Toothbrush & Holder

  • Toothpaste

  • Chapstick

  • Pair (or two) of Socks

Let’s make this month count by showing our community what it looks like to love like Jesus. Take pictures as you serve and share them with us—we’d love to celebrate what God is doing through you!

LET'S CELEBRATE!!

Before Serve Month even began, our Local Missions Team has already been faithfully serving—and we want to celebrate what God has done through them!

Together, the team was able to:

  • Purchase 18 sleeping bags for those in need

  • Collect enough supplies to fill 25 Winter Blessing Bags and 25 Gospel Blessing Bags

Here’s what went inside:

Winter Blessing Bags:

  • 1 hat

  • 1 pair of socks

  • 1 pair of gloves

  • 3 pairs of hand warmers

  • 3 emergency blankets

  • 1 bag of Halls

  • 1 pack of Kleenex

  • 1 medicated Carmex

  • 1 Gospel Blessing Bag

Gospel Blessing Bags:

  • 1 wooden cross necklace

  • 1 scripture wristband

  • 1 gospel tract

  • 1 card with a Bible verse

  • 1 “Prayer to Share” card with a handwritten note on the back

This is a beautiful example of what happens when the church comes together to serve—we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

LAST YEAR

Last year’s Serve Day was incredible—we saw our church come together to love our community in powerful ways! From serving families to meeting practical needs, God worked through every act of kindness. This year we’re believing for an even greater impact, and we can’t wait to see how He moves as we step out to serve again!
