lead pastor

Lucas Grainger
In late 2009, Pastor Lucas gathered with a small group of people in a living room near Ocean Isle Beach to dream and pray about planting a new church in Brunswick County. Just a few months later, in January 2010, Coastal Church held its very first public service at Planet Fun Family Center in Shallotte. From there, the church grew—meeting on Express Drive, then the Senior Center in Supply—until July 2022, when Coastal stepped into its first permanent home: the former Shallotte Cinema at 5200 Bridgers Road.

Through every step of the journey, Pastor Lucas has led with vision, faith, and a passion to see people fully alive in Christ. Together with his wife, Davine, they are raising their two children here in Brunswick County, building both their family and the Coastal family. What began as a small living room gathering has now become a vibrant church community reaching people across our region and beyond. God is good!

BOARD OF ELDERS

We are non-denominational.

We are lead by a board of elders.

We have a group of local and non-local leaders who provide oversight, accountability, and encouragement.

Our deacons function in the roles of "Team Leaders" providing care, equipping the saints, and encouragement.

.....I appeal to you:  Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.   1 Peter 5:2
